Reproduce with: python3 scripts/import-precincts.py The importer requests selected bounding boxes from the public OSM Map API. Each JSON records its precise bounds, retrieval date, original way IDs, source URLs, source timestamps, coordinates and height basis. manifest.json summarises the six extracts. These are selected precinct samples, not whole-city coverage. Geometry is WGS84 longitude/latitude (EPSG:4326). The viewer converts it to a small-area local metre projection using Earth's equatorial radius and the cosine of centre latitude. Building footprints preserve the original closed OSM way geometry. One viewer unit is one metre. Height tags are parsed in metres (feet converted where specified). Otherwise building:levels is multiplied by 3.2 metres and labelled a storey estimate. Missing height and levels yield null, displayed as flat footprints; no fictional default towers are added. Height tags are community mapping, not a claim of surveyed accuracy. Limitations: flat ground, no terrain or LiDAR; no live sensor feeds; no roof or facade reconstruction; no multipolygon relations, courtyards, or building-part modelling. OSM coverage, currency and completeness vary. Roads and waterways are mapped line geometry. Sparse Bradfield geometry is retained honestly. This exploratory digital-twin foundation is not suitable for surveying, navigation, engineering or planning decisions. No building ownership, access, tenancy, government endorsement or Nexus partnership is implied by appearing in the model. Application code and enterprise records are separate from this geospatial database. Demo enterprise records never become source geography or real participants.
