Regional development is a long-term process. Current planning frameworks, adopted local strategies and operating infrastructure each tell a different part of the story. Explore them together before deciding where your organisation can contribute.
A planning horizon is not a project completion date. Check the responsible agency’s delivery updates for individual projects.

The Sydney Plan
The current regional land-use framework connects housing, jobs, infrastructure and open space. Version 1.0 commenced on 13 August 2026.
It replaces the 2018 Greater Sydney Region Plan and five district plans. Read the technical appendices for industrial land, infrastructure and local planning context.
Adopted on 11 May 2026, the strategy organises Parramatta’s economic direction around productivity, place and people.
Use the ten-year strategy to understand the city’s priorities for employment, economic resilience and shared prosperity. It supports the longer-term Parramatta 2050 vision.
Planning for an emerging employment area around the airport, with precinct controls and approved master plans.
Bradfield’s master plan was approved in September 2024. Its capacity for 10,000 homes and 20,000 jobs is a planning ambition, not a count of homes or jobs delivered.
Stage 1 is operational, connecting Westmead and Carlingford through Parramatta CBD and Camellia.
The route spans 12 kilometres. Stage 2 is a separate project; consult official project and travel information rather than treating future extensions as operating services.
